The Pillars of Freemasonry – Strength, Wisdom, and Beauty

Freemasonry is built upon timeless principles that guide its members toward self-improvement, enlightenment, and brotherhood. Among these, Strength, Wisdom, and Beauty form the three pillars upon which every Mason stands. But how do these pillars shape not just our Lodges, but our daily lives?

Strength – The Pillar of Fortitude

Strength is not just physical but moral and spiritual. As Masons, we are called to stand firm in our values, uphold truth, and support our brethren. In times of struggle, we find resilience through our principles, ensuring that our character remains unshaken.

Wisdom – The Pillar of Knowledge

Wisdom is the pursuit of knowledge, not just in ritual but in life. It guides our decisions, helps us discern truth from falsehood, and inspires us to be better men. Through study, reflection, and mentorship, we continue to refine our understanding of the world and our place within it.

Beauty – The Pillar of Harmony

Beauty represents balance, harmony, and the artistry of Masonic teachings. It is found in the order of the Lodge, the elegance of our rituals, and the way we conduct ourselves in society. A Mason strives to bring beauty into his actions, ensuring his words and deeds reflect the virtues we uphold.

Applying the Pillars to Modern Life

In today's fast-paced world, these principles remain as relevant as ever. Strength helps us endure challenges, wisdom ensures we make sound choices, and beauty reminds us to seek balance in all we do.

I feel that in our daily walk our character must be shaken, this is what proves our connection to the greater good. The real test is maintaining our character. Likewise, I believe that true character can only be displayed and not created. You either stand the test of time or be tested by what you stand for.
